I cannot select Rave, but I have a PCI Rage 128 graphics card.
Rave graphics acceleration was disabled on PCI Rage 128 graphics cards due to a bug that
would cause graphical corruption.
Diablo II sometimes crashes when I switch to a window, or switch back from a window to full screen.
This is due to a bug in DrawSprocket 1.7.4.
You can install DrawSprocket 1.7.3 from the Diablo II installer. If you do not want to install over DrawSprocket 1.7.4, you can put DrawSprocket 1.7.3 inside your Diablo II Files folder inside your Diablo II folder.
You should also check to see if Apple has released a version of DrawSprocket later than 1.7.4. If so, update to that version.
Diablo II is crashing whenever there's a lot of action on the screen, or when I try to host
Open Battle.net and TCP/IP games.
This is probably due to a RAM deficiency.
Purchasing more physical RAM is the best way to solve this problem. If that isn't possible, try increasing your virtual memory until you have a total of 256MB or more. Because of Diablo II's strict memory requirements we cannot recommend running without virtual memory.
Crashing can also be due to extension conflicts, if you are crashing when starting or during the game, try making a base set of extensions to run Diablo II.
Diablo II slows down a lot if I toggle screen modes while playing.
This usually happens when you have pop-up windows active in the Finder.
The Finder will attempt to interrupt the game when a monitor resolution switch occurs and pop-up windows are open. This can slow Diablo II's performance to a crawl. We suggest you close all pop-up windows prior to playing.
My mouse button(s) are not working in the game.
Diablo II does not support multi-button USB mice in Mac OS 8.1 to 8.5.1. If you are running OS 8.5.1 or lower and would like to use multi-button USB mice, we recommend upgrading to OS 8.6 or higher.
If you are running DII in a window, InputSprocket will automatically disable itself until you
switch to full screen mode (Command+M).
If you are running in full screen mode and your mouse buttons still do not work, try disabling the button programming software which came with your mouse and then restarting.
If you use a single button mouse do not enable the multi-button mouse option.
Some mice are not compatible with the GameSprockets software and must be configured Manually.
Use the procedure below to manually configure the mouse each time you play.
Start the game.
Disable the game's multi button mouse option.
Use the Command M key combination to run in a window.
Open your mouse's button configuration software.
Set the right button to a Command key + a mouse click.
Close the mouse software.
Select Diablo II in the Finder.
Use the Command M key combination to run in full screen mode again.
My USB mouse or keyboard freezes up during the game.
There may not be a 100% solution to this problem depending on what model of Macintosh you are using.
The following steps can be taken to minimize the occurrence of the problem.
Delete the GameSprockets software from your extensions folder. Then reinstall GameSprockets by either using the Software Update control panel (MacOS 9.0 or better), or by downloading the GameSprockets software from Apple's web site and installing it manually.
Update USB device driver software for devices you have installed. Check with the manufacturers of the devices for driver updates.
Disconnect USB devices you will not be using prior to playing Diablo II. Then reconnect them after you are finished playing.
